OUR STORY

Founder and Principal

Halito and welcome to my dream job.

I started this company with my partners as an extension of my  9 year consultancy following an 18 year career in disaster preparedness, response, recovery and long-term recovery at a national level working with Tribal, VOAD, State and Federal Partners and training Tribal Emergency Managers at the Federal level.    A catastrophic hurricane and large-scale readiness, response, recovery and long-term responder and planner, to be more specific.   Outreach to Tribes was almost non-existent when I began and the work to build an inclusive program, not only internal to my organization, but also to bring others to the table with a better understanding of what it means to partner with Indigenous Nations.  Just prior to the Pandemic, I added work partnering with Feeding America to build and pilot the Natives Prepared Project.  We were able to accomplish so many amazing projects - what did not exist was a way to bring Indigenous-farmed and produced  products to Food Banks and out to Tribal citizens through the network.  The food needed to be accessible by cost and accessible by speed-to-scale.  We couldn't find it, so we built it - that is the Good Warrior you see.  We quickly expanded beyond our Indigenous providers to include modern, standard foods requested by our customer base under Food Marketplace Division - then added  Divisions, a Casino/Hotel Incentives Division, Commercial Supply Division, Government Contract Division and coming in the Fall of 2025, we will add 3 Non-Profits.  While you are here,  make sure to see the 8th Generation Support Division page to see how we are focused to give back to the future generations of Indigenous Farmers, Ranchers and Entrepreneurs.  It has been a whirlwind, but we wouldn't trade this mission for anything.  We are expanding rapidly as you can see by the website construction.   We want to make sure you have what you need at your fingertips, safe, secure, stable and speedy.  My name is Chele Rider and I am a proud Indigenous Woman and Citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. I can't wait to meet you and see what we can do together.

OUR STORY

Good Warrior LLC (GWLLC) was born from a deep reverence for our Indigenous roots and a passionate commitment to fostering wellness and resilience within all  communities. Founded as an Indigenous female owned business deeply connected to indigenous heritage, GWLLC is driven by a mission to provide healthy food alternatives that honor and celebrate traditional foodways while also offering  modern foods to our customers.   Our mission to feed people and offer choices guide our actions, ensuring that our efforts are grounded the recognition of food as a fundamental human right.

Our journey began with a simple yet profound realization: that the act of nourishing ourselves is
not just about sustaining our bodies but also about preserving cultural heritage and empowering
local communities. With this ethos at our core, we embarked on a mission to support small-scale
farmers and cultivate sustainable partnerships that nourish both bodies and cultural traditions.  We quickly expanded our offerings to include modern foods at competitive pricing to support our partners in food accessibility.

At GWLLC, we understand that true wellness extends beyond mere sustenance. It encompasses
the holistic well-being of individuals, families, and communities. That's why our 8th Generation initiatives are
designed not only to provide healthy alternatives but also to promote disaster preparedness,
fortify resilience, and foster self-sufficiency in all communities.  Central to our journey is the belief in the power of education to bring about meaningful change.  We are committed to enlightening the general public about the rich cultural heritage and contributions of indigenous peoples, fostering awareness, understanding, and inclusivity.

As we look to the future, our vision is clear: to contribute to solving hunger and to create a world
where everyone has access to culturally appropriate, nourishing, and eco-conscious food and
water. Join us on our journey towards a healthier, more vibrant future for all.
